Treatments for mental illnesses today are usually effective. Individually tailored treatment plans that combine effective medicationpsychosocial treatments and other supports can substantially improve quality of life and reduce symptoms for 70 to 90 percent of individuals.

With appropriate care, most people with mental disorders can lead fulfilling, independent lives and manage the effects of their illness.
